Position Summary

The Direct Services Volunteer will advocate for survivors of sexual and domestic violence, providing crisis intervention and ongoing support both in-person and via phone. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments of survivors' situations and developing safety plans.
  • Performing general administrative tasks related to client assistance.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of client interactions.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Offer emotional support and advocacy during walk-in hours and through the helpline.
  • Provide crisis intervention counseling and resources to clients.
  • Engage in medical and legal advocacy as needed.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and outreach events.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of SafePlace Advocate Core Training within six months of hire.
  • Experience in culturally relevant service delivery.
  • Basic computer skills and effective communication abilities.
