Child & Family Therapist Position Available at Sea Mar Community Health Centers

Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) established in 1978, is committed to providing exceptional health, human, housing, educational, and cultural services to diverse populations, particularly focusing on the Latino community in Washington State.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Child & Family Therapist to contribute to our mission.

Note: Sea Mar is a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine organization.

Position Overview:

Sea Mar Behavioral Health in Tumwater, WA is looking for a full-time Child and Family Therapist who will be responsible for delivering individual and/or family therapy, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and group therapy facilitation. This position involves collaboration with educational institutions and non-traditional environments, working alongside various healthcare professionals, and developing treatment plans customized to address mental health diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Assist in the formulation of policies
  • Educate staff regarding mental health service referrals
  • Maintain precise documentation of mental health services provided

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning
  • Provide care appropriate for various age groups
  • Engage family members in the treatment process
  • Collaborate with other professionals for assessments and treatment
  • Refer clients to necessary services
  • Deliver counseling and crisis intervention
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and support staff

PRODUCTIVITY EXPECTATIONS

Achieve a minimum of 80 face-to-face interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Behavioral Health Organization contracts
  • Skills in accurate mental health diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Understanding of chemical dependency treatment
  • Completion of annual clinical competency assessments
  • Must successfully pass a background check

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work
  • Licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Social Work
  • Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License or mental health Associate License
  • Child Mental Health Specialist credential
  • Experience with evidence-based practices and working with children
  • Proficiency in Cerner, MS Office, and medical software
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are advantageous
