Position Overview:

The Investment Management Associate (IMA) position acts as the central operational point for the NFP Asset Management division. In a collaborative team setting, IMAs are responsible for daily interactions with various internal and external stakeholders, necessitating exceptional organizational and communication skills. The IMA role is crucial for supporting Relationship Managers (Financial Advisors), the Asset Management Sales Team (Asset Managers), and clients in managing new and ongoing business across diverse investment portfolios, including fixed and variable annuities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide new clients through the onboarding process, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected for each account type and investment request. Maintain communication with clients, Relationship Managers, Asset Managers, and vendors throughout this process.
  • Serve as a liaison between Asset Managers and other business partners to guarantee high-quality client service, including handling client inquiries, transaction processing, and accurate data entry in our proprietary CRM (Mosaic).
  • Quickly identify and escalate complex issues related to investment accounts, contributions, and distributions to the Asset Management Leadership team when necessary.
  • Oversee all client deposits and withdrawals, including tracking and communicating with stakeholders to expedite transactions such as wire transfers, distributions, and portfolio rebalancing.
  • Assist in generating client proposals under the guidance of Relationship Managers and/or Asset Managers.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the various investment programs offered by NFP Asset Management and contribute to updating internal marketing platforms with relevant materials.
  • Support the VP, Operations Manager with special projects as needed.
  • Build relationships with NFP vendors to ensure effective account maintenance for clients.
  • Utilize NFP's proprietary CRM (Mosaic) and other critical platforms, developing a functional understanding of their interconnectivity.
  • Act as an operational resource for Relationship Managers conducting Asset Management business independently.
  • Stay updated on broker-dealer technology relevant to new account onboarding and reporting, ensuring proficiency in systems such as Mosaic, A360, ProGen, WealthScape, Envestnet, Tamarac, RightBridge, Broadridge, and DST Vision.
  • Become knowledgeable about custodian technology, including platforms like Charles Schwab, Fidelity, and National Financial Services (NFS).
Required Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of equity and bond markets, trusts, and regulations regarding security transfers.
  • Basic to advanced skills in MOSAIC, including task management and reporting.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with clients and Relationship Managers.
  • Quick learner of systems and procedures, with a knack for organizing workload efficiently.
  • Proactive in identifying potential issues and developing contingency plans.
Required Behaviors and Attitudes:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in investment, client relationship, or sales roles.
  • Familiarity with sophisticated investment solutions tailored for high-net-worth clients and proficiency in asset allocation strategies.
Licensing Requirements:
  • Series 7 and 66 licenses preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $80,000, determined by factors such as experience, credentials, education, and geographic location.
