Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Investment Associate to join our team at J Harlan Group, LLC. As an Investment Associate, you will play a key role in evaluating and executing investments within various asset classes and across the capital structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Develop and maintain complex financial models to analyze investment opportunities and portfolio performance.
- Structured Finance & Credit: Manage the structured finance/credit process for the fund investment team, including negotiating and executing financing transactions.
- Due Diligence: Conduct qualitative and quantitative business, financial, and other due diligence in conjunction with the deal team and third-party advisors.
- Investment Memorandums & Transaction Analysis: Prepare internal materials, including Investment Memorandums and transaction analysis for presentation to the Investment Committee.
- Portfolio Monitoring & Support: Monitor and support asset portfolios and outstanding financings.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, investment firm, or fund experience.
- Structured Finance & Leveraged Finance: Experience in structured finance, leveraged finance, aviation, transportation, and/or alternative asset experience is a plus.
- Analytical & Communication Skills: Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills required.
- Attention to Detail: Extremely detail-oriented.
- Process Management: Ability to manage a process from start to finish with true ownership in areas that might be new to both the individual and even the firm.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Strong academic record and a bachelor's or higher degree.

What We Offer:
- Competitive Salary: $80,000 - $140,000 plus employees may also be eligible for annual discretionary incentive compensation.
