Job Overview

Position Summary

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is in search of a Marketing Operations Manager to join our dynamic Revenue Development, Marketing & Communications team. This role is pivotal in crafting and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that utilize market insights and historical data to enhance AIAA's outreach and effectiveness.

In this position, you will report directly to the Director of Marketing and play a key role in managing and implementing annual marketing initiatives for AIAA's membership, products, and programs. This includes responsibilities for the AIAA Foundation, K-12 initiatives, regional and sectional activities, forums, and public policy advocacy. You will oversee the development, review, and fulfillment processes of marketing materials in collaboration with graphic designers, print production teams, and project managers. Additionally, you will generate regular analytics reports to leverage data for optimizing project outcomes.

AIAA promotes a Flexible Workplace model, allowing staff to work primarily remotely while attending in-person meetings and collaborations as necessary. Candidates are expected to reside within the metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement marketing strategies, promotional timelines, and budget management.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to inform the positioning of AIAA's offerings.
  • Collaborate with team members and content creators to enhance the AIAA brand and ensure cohesive marketing and communication efforts across various projects.
  • Produce engaging and grammatically precise promotional content.
  • Maintain consistency in messaging and branding across all marketing communications.
  • Utilize the association management system and Hubspot to create queries, lists, and reports.
  • Ensure all outputs align with AIAA's branding and style guidelines.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams (e.g., Design, Communications, IT) for effective project and budget oversight.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

Essential Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High proficiency in project management, marketing execution, market analysis, and promotional writing.
  • Quick adaptability to new software, systems, and processes.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, particularly Hubspot.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent editing skills.
  • Organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Google Tag Manager, Analytics, AdWords, and Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Ability to listen and apply constructive feedback effectively.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in marketing related to events, products, programs, or association membership.

Education Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
