Leidos, a key player in the Science & Infrastructure Operations Business Area within the Health & Civil Sector, is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Capture Manager to enhance their vibrant team. This full-time role is primarily situated on the US East Coast, ideally within the DC-MD-VA region. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in the leadership framework for Science & Infrastructure Operations (SIO). Some travel may be necessary to support our diverse organizational needs. The candidate must be able to work onsite in a Leidos facility three days a week.

We seek a Capture Manager to be a pivotal member of our Science & Infrastructure Operations (SIO) Business Development Team. As an essential part of the SIO Business Development/Capture team, you will manage various pursuits to ensure excellence in the execution of comprehensive capture activities, which include crafting solutions through our Corporate Capture Management Process. This role will facilitate strategic teaming and pricing strategies to create compelling and successful proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Capture teams effectively.
  • Identify customer needs and evaluation criteria.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape to determine optimal teaming partners.
  • Establish winning strategies, value propositions, and compelling features for the capture and proposal teams.
  • Oversee opportunity management, including Pursue/No Pursue and Bid/No Bid decisions.
  • Develop, organize, and execute significant capture initiatives, including forming industry and internal Leidos teams.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of call plans.
  • Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements, identifying gaps and emerging needs.
  • Drive all aspects of the capture process through the Win Plan methodology.
  • Communicate resource requirements and collaborate with subject matter experts, functional leads, and Program Managers.
  • Support Division Managers and senior staff by managing call plan development, execution, and detailed reporting on follow-up activities.
  • Plan and engage in capture activities, including white papers, RFIs, sources sought, workshops, opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, collaboration sessions, and proposal reviews.
  • Ensure timely submission of compliant RFI, sources sought, and proposal responses.
  • Engage routinely with all levels of Division, Operation, and Group management, infrastructure POCs, staff, and customers, ensuring follow-through on tasks.
  • Provide capture status updates to senior management at key milestones and when significant changes occur.
  • Conduct after-action reviews for all business opportunities, documenting lessons learned and identifying necessary adjustments to capture strategies and actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 12+ years of related experience.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing successful large captures, achieving profitable revenue growth in federal government contracting.
  • Reputation for building high-performance teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Ten or more years of recent experience with a successful history of closing deals in the federal market.
  • Demonstrated ability to win large federal contracts, with a portfolio showcasing experience in various government contract types and capture strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with technical leaders and business executives.
  • Experience contributing to fast-paced business leadership teams is advantageous.
