Position Title: Cleaning Operations Manager

Report To: Facilities Manager

Department: Housekeeping

Minimum Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Job Summary: The Cleaning Operations Manager is accountable for the effective management of the housekeeping operations during a designated shift, ensuring adherence to the organization's established protocols and standards. This role involves overseeing the daily activities of housekeeping staff to guarantee that the casino premises, associated facilities, and grounds are kept in a pristine, organized, and visually appealing condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide recommendations for hiring, termination, promotions, and transfers; facilitate training opportunities, assess performance, and complete necessary documentation for annual evaluations.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and development, offering feedback to support personal and professional growth.
  • Exemplify professionalism and positivity, serving as a role model for all team members.
  • Demonstrate leadership by continuously evaluating, guiding, and motivating team members.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and events at the casino.
  • Suggest enhancements to processes and customer service, as well as innovative solutions and policy adjustments.
  • Welcome all guests and team members with a friendly demeanor.
  • Oversee the cleaning activities of the housekeeping team in public areas, restrooms, and other designated locations.
  • Engage in housekeeping tasks alongside the team.
  • Monitor and assess building conditions daily.
  • Establish a timeline for necessary repairs or cleaning schedules.
  • Keep abreast of technological advancements in the industry.
  • Compile and submit daily shift reports detailing activities, attendance, and any issues encountered.
  • Address problems and concerns as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of team member files, paperwork, and attendance logs.
  • Communicate relevant organizational updates to appropriate team members, including the department manager and director.
  • Coordinate with supporting departments as needed to fulfill daily responsibilities.
  • Communicate with other housekeeping supervisors regarding inventory and supply requirements.
  • Schedule housekeeping staff hours and assignments.
  • Review and compile timesheets for housekeeping team members and submit for approval.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Organize staff meetings as necessary.
  • Participate in required departmental meetings.
  • Complete all mandatory training satisfactorily.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist at other properties as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience in a commercial cleaning environment or demonstrated ability to lead teams.
  • One (1) year of experience in maintaining and cleaning a commercial facility.
  • Familiarity with floor machines and cleaning equipment.
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License and insurability through our insurance carrier.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, as the role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products or related software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility with shifts and days off, including the capacity to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Willingness to undergo a skills assessment test to verify qualifications.
  • Frequent exposure to dust, dirt, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to loud noise levels and smoke-filled environments.
  • Ability to obtain a gaming license in accordance with regulations.
