Job Summary

The Catering Sales Manager is a key member of our hotel team, responsible for driving sales and marketing efforts to maximize banquet and catering revenues. This role requires a strong partnership with management to build client relationships and execute on brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue goals
  • Partner with F&B Manager to provide support in F&B operations
  • Ensure the sales call process is generating maximum profit for the hotel
  • Champion and promote the hotel brand
  • Maintain catering sales projections and goals
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor activity
  • Exemplify a high professional standard and meet monthly sales goals
  • Provide support for sales team and lead generation
  • Develop and implement new sales initiatives and programs
  • Network and prospect new and existing accounts
  • Sell and coordinate meeting space and food and beverage service
  • Develop and deliver account strategy for overall hotel performance
  • Manage revenue by utilizing market data and knowledge
  • Utilize sales tools and systems to accurately identify and report sales data
  • Ensure client satisfaction by responding to client needs and concerns
  • Communicate client needs to operational departments
  • Follow up with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals
  • Meet company and department-specific training requirements
  • Attend department and hotel meetings to ensure proper communication and planning
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel sales
  • Proven track record of great guest service scores and national brand experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn and understand profit and loss statements
  • A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates
Work Environment
  • This job operates in a professional office environment
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment
  • Exposed to ambient room temperatures and traditional office equipment
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit or stand at a desk or other areas of the property
  • Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the property and office
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel
  • Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. occasionally
