About the Role

The GBI team is responsible for managing Apple's extensive enterprise data warehouse, which encompasses vast amounts of data and processes millions of data points to generate insights that support strategic business decisions. We utilize a variety of advanced technologies, including Snowflake, HANA, and SingleStore, alongside numerous analytics tools.

As a Senior Engineering Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in steering the delivery of critical projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading comprehensive project management efforts, particularly for large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Overseeing all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes defining, scheduling, prioritizing, tracking, measuring, and communicating project status.
  • Collaborating with diverse teams across various layers of technology and engaging with cross-functional partners, including engineering, platform, and business units.
  • Facilitating brainstorming sessions for requirements and conducting design reviews with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifying potential risks, addressing obstacles, and fostering effective communication among teams.
  • Assisting with additional responsibilities such as maintaining project roadmaps, overseeing resource allocation, and implementing governance frameworks.

Key Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering project management, specifically within Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics.
  • Familiarity with various project management methodologies, including Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Change Management.
  • A proven track record of managing complex, large-scale cross-functional programs and aligning multiple teams towards common goals.
  • Strong self-motivation, collaboration skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to demonstrate resilience and adaptability in ambiguous situations, promoting transparency and inclusivity.
  • Experience with SAP and data warehousing, particularly in large-scale system migration projects, is preferred.

Education & Experience

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
