  • Model Development: Design and implement machine learning models that enhance Xometry's ability to predict cost, price, and sourcing options for customers and suppliers.
  • Emerging Technology Evaluation: Lead the evaluation of emerging AI and machine learning technologies, identifying areas for improvement and developing new features to ensure the reliability and scalability of Xometry's platform.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, and define technical solutions based on the latest innovations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor machine learning models and AI performance, troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Requirements
  • Machine Learning Expertise: Experience with state-of-the-art ML modeling techniques, including transformers, self-supervised pre-training, generative modeling, and large language models.
  • Large-Scale Data Processing: Hands-on experience training and applying models at scale using deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Cloud-Native Software Development: Proficiency in cloud-native software development, including containers, container orchestration, and distributed systems.
  • Strong Software Fundamentals: Experience in design patterns, refactoring, object-oriented programming, and testing.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with building systems using Infrastructure as Code, not console clicking.
  • Data Analysis: Comfortable working with SQL and/or NoSQL, understanding database design, and data analysis.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Experience building and consuming CI/CD pipelines.
  • Command Line Experience: Familiarity with the command line and experience working with *nix systems.
  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience leading cross-team engineering efforts.
  • Project Management: Strong execution skills in project management.
  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder (ITAR).
