Role Overview

The EHS Field Manager is tasked with showcasing leadership by effectively communicating business objectives, programs, and processes across the East region.

This role involves the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of all facets of the company's EHS program, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and applicable federal, state, and local requirements. The ideal candidate will possess the experience and expertise necessary to tackle challenges, develop and execute objectives for themselves and their team, and contribute to achieving both short-term and long-term business goals while ensuring safe solutions for our operations and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
● Lead and guide a team of three EHS professionals, establishing goals, monitoring performance, and promoting professional growth.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align EHS goals with the organization's strategic initiatives.
● Utilize influencing skills to cultivate a robust EHS culture valued by leadership across commercial, engineering, manufacturing, and field services.
● Identify, develop, and drive process simplification and enhancements for the distributed workforce team in North America.
● Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, along with industry standards and best practices.
● Recognize emerging EHS issues and trends, formulating effective strategies to address them.
● Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers to elevate awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
● Promote and adhere to procedures for reporting and investigating EHS incidents, including near-misses, accidents, and environmental spills.
● Lead investigations into incidents to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
● Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, worksites, and equipment to evaluate compliance with EHS regulations and company standards.
● Serve as the primary contact for EHS-related inquiries and communications within the North America East Field.
● Support customer EHS inquiries and discussions related to field activities.
● Participate in special projects as assigned, including risk reduction initiatives and internal program audits.
● Collaborate and mentor business team members to foster a culture of inclusion and diversity.

Qualifications:

The EHS Field Manager should:
● Possess a solid background in health and safety.
● Be adept at coaching and conveying EHS requirements across all organizational levels.
● Exhibit the ability to partner and influence across various functional teams.
● Manage multiple shifting demands with professionalism and sound judgment while adapting to dynamic business and industry scenarios.
● Be an attentive listener and articulate ideas and solutions in a professional manner.
● Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to motivate and inspire team members.
● Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills, effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
● Be willing to travel as necessary to visit worksites and support team members.
● Have experience with root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., Apollo, FMEA, Bow-tie, Fishbone, Tap Root, etc.).
● Demonstrate EHS risk recognition and auditing skills in project and field work.

Core Qualifications:
● A Bachelor's degree in EHS, engineering, science, or a related technical field.
● A minimum of 5 years of proven EHS leadership experience with a focus on health and safety.
● Routine travel is required.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
● Transformational leadership to coach and guide leaders in meaningful safety discussions.
● Effectively communicate EHS expectations by leveraging technical and business proficiency with client stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
● Facilitate the removal of obstacles for projects, engineering, and services teams to ensure adherence to high safety standards and awareness.
● Foster a trusting EHS culture where concerns can be raised without fear of blame or retribution, emphasizing results and problem-solving.
