Position Summary
The EHS Field Manager will play a pivotal role in articulating business objectives, programs, and processes across the East region.
Key Responsibilities
This role will encompass the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of all facets of the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program, ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations. The EHS Field Manager will be expected to:
- Lead and mentor a team of three EHS professionals, establishing goals, tracking performance, and promoting professional growth.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to synchronize EHS objectives with broader organizational goals.
- Utilize persuasive communication skills to cultivate a robust EHS culture valued by leadership across commercial, engineering, manufacturing, and field services.
- Identify and drive process improvements for the North America distributed workforce team.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
- Recognize emerging EHS challenges and devise effective strategies to address them.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs to enhance employee awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
- Establish and adhere to procedures for reporting and investigating EHS incidents, including near-misses and environmental spills.
- Lead investigations into incidents to determine root causes, implement corrective measures, and prevent future occurrences.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities and equipment to evaluate compliance with EHS regulations and company standards.
- Act as the primary contact for EHS-related inquiries within the North America East Field.
- Support customer EHS inquiries related to field activities.
- Participate in special projects as assigned, including risk reduction initiatives and internal program audits.
- Encourage a culture of inclusion and diversity within the business team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the EHS Field Manager position will possess:
- A strong background in health and safety.
- Proficiency in coaching and communicating EHS requirements across all organizational levels.
- The ability to collaborate and influence across various functional teams.
- Expertise in managing multiple priorities with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and inspire team members.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
- A willingness to travel as necessary to support team members and visit worksites.
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies.
- Demonstrated skills in EHS risk recognition and auditing.
Core Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in EHS, engineering, science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience in EHS with a focus on health and safety.
- Routine travel may be required.
