Position Overview

The EHS Field Manager is tasked with showcasing leadership by effectively communicating business objectives, programs, and processes across the East region.

This role is pivotal in implementing, maintaining, and enhancing all facets of the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program. This includes ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, developing programs that meet federal, state, and local requirements, and leveraging expertise to address challenges, formulate, and execute objectives for both self and team members. The position also aims to influence short-term and long-term business goals while ensuring safe practices for our operations and clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
● Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a team of three EHS professionals, including goal setting, performance monitoring, and fostering career development.
● Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to align EHS goals with organizational strategies and initiatives.
● Utilize persuasive skills to cultivate a robust EHS culture valued by leadership across commercial, engineering, manufacturing, and field services.
● Identify, develop, and drive process simplification and enhancements for the North America distributed workforce.
● Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, alongside industry standards and best practices.
● Recognize emerging EHS challenges and trends, developing effective strategies to address them.
● Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers to elevate awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
● Promote and comply with procedures for reporting and investigating EHS incidents, including near-misses, accidents, and environmental spills.
● Lead investigations into incidents to determine root causes, implement corrective measures, and prevent recurrence.
● Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, worksites, and equipment to evaluate compliance with EHS regulations and company standards.
● Act as the primary contact for EHS-related inquiries and communications for the North America East Field.
● Support customer EHS inquiries and discussions related to field activities.
● Lead or assist in special projects as assigned, including risk reduction initiatives, Gensuite management, and internal program audits.
● Collaborate and mentor business team members to foster a culture that values inclusion and diversity.

Required Qualifications:

Ideal Candidate:
The EHS Field Manager should:
● Possess a solid background in health and safety.
● Demonstrate proficiency in coaching and communicating EHS requirements across all organizational levels.
● Exhibit the ability to partner and influence across functional teams.
● Manage multiple shifting demands with professionalism and sound judgment while adapting to dynamic business and industry situations.
● Be an attentive listener and articulate ideas and solutions in a professional manner.
● Showcase strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the capability to motivate and inspire team members.
● Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills, effectively conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
● Be willing to travel as necessary to visit worksites and support team members.
● Have experience with root cause analysis methodologies (Apollo, FMEA, Bow-tie, Fishbone, Tap Root, etc.).
● Demonstrate EHS risk recognition and auditing capabilities (project/field work).

Core Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, science, or a related technical field.
● A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated EHS leadership experience with a focus on health and safety.
● Routine travel is required.
