About the Role

23andMe, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly creative individual to lead our social media and content creation efforts. As the Head of Social Media and Content Creation, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with our company's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a social media strategy that drives engagement, brand awareness, and customer acquisition.
  • Lead a team of content creators and social media specialists to produce high-quality content across various social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product science, research, and education teams, to develop and implement social media content that is educational, creative, and attention-getting.
  • Work closely with external agencies and publishing partners to leverage their expertise and resources in social media marketing.
  • Manage and optimize social media campaigns to ensure they are on-time, on-budget, and meet their intended goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key social media influencers and thought leaders in the industry.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, best practices, and platform updates to ensure our social media strategy remains effective and innovative.
Requirements
  • 8-10+ years of experience in social media content creation, marketing, and creative development.
  • Proven track record of creating new, big ideas and strategies that drive engagement and brand awareness.
  • Experience with influencer marketing and building content and community through social media.
  • Highly experienced in the functionality of all applicable social media platforms.
  • Successful track record leading small teams within an organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven track record to hire and lead a team.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a high-pressure, ambiguous environment, bringing both creativity and critical thinking to deliver results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Knowledge of marketing automation tools and social media analytics platforms.
  • Ability to work from 23andMe's office in Sunnyvale, CA a minimum of three days per week.
