The Event Service Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of catered functions as directed by the Food and Beverage Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check in with the Food and Beverage Manager upon arrival to receive daily tasks.
  • Review assigned Banquet Event Orders with the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Plan the day's activities and prepare to assign tasks to banquet personnel at the beginning of each shift.
  • Oversee event preparations and ensure that all tasks are progressing as scheduled.
  • Assist in managing the use of linens, beverages, and other banquet supplies.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings with banquet service staff.
  • Ensure that all events are set up at least 15 minutes before their scheduled start time.
  • Maintain an organized service hallway to enhance food service efficiency.
  • Supervise and assist in the food service for each event.
  • Coordinate and oversee meal breaks for service personnel.
  • Create a post-event task list and ensure all tasks are completed before releasing service staff.
  • Complete a Captain's Report following each event.
  • Responsible for clearing and cleaning all catering areas after events.
  • Maintain organization of linen storage and other catering equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness of all catering supplies and equipment.
  • Return all table-stand numbers to the designated area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Ensure that all catering storage units are secured at the end of the shift.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and deemed necessary.
  • Report to Food & Beverage personnel in the appropriate uniform for the assigned location.
  • Prepare all beverage items for sale in the designated station.
  • Handle cash and/or tickets responsibly.
  • Adhere to all regulations applicable to beverage operations and the Food and Beverage Division.
  • Request identification from every guest purchasing alcoholic beverages.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Possess strong knowledge of sanitary practices.
  • Maintain proper grooming and dress code standards.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic with urgency and quality in a team setting.
  • Collaborate effectively with other staff members within the facility.
  • Have a solid understanding of the food service industry.
  • Exhibit excellent guest service and catering skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must hold TIPS Food Handler Certification.
Flexibility to work various hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in addition to standard business hours is required.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma, an Associate's Degree, Bartending Certification, and three to five years of catering experience or a combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility, stand for extended periods during events, and communicate effectively. This role may require work both indoors and outdoors as dictated by events. The position involves stooping and lifting, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs to waist height.
