SALARY:
$15.50 an hour


ASM Global, a leader in the management of public assembly venues, is currently seeking a dedicated Banquet Server to join our team.

The Banquet Server plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences by providing friendly and efficient service.

Servers are expected to be attentive to guests' needs, creating an atmosphere that is welcoming, comfortable, and enjoyable.


It is important to note that employees in the Food and Beverage department at ASM Global are part of a collective bargaining agreement, which requires union membership as a condition of employment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Banquet Server will be responsible for the timely and proper setup and execution of banquet events.

Responsibilities include:
  • Arranging tables and chairs, and inspecting linens, silverware, and china before use.
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism and organization.
  • Ensuring all equipment and facilities are kept clean and safe.
  • Reviewing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) at the start of each shift to confirm room setups are as contracted.
  • Communicating with lead catering staff regarding any special requirements.
  • Assisting in keeping events on schedule and passing necessary information to the next staff member on duty.
  • Upholding high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas.
  • Addressing any guest concerns and communicating them to the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Providing an excellent dining experience by delivering food and beverages, fulfilling customer requests, and maintaining table settings.
  • Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at guests' tables, including proper wine service.
  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as directed by supervisors.
  • Greeting all guests warmly and adhering to grooming and appearance standards.
  • Understanding and communicating the products and services available at the venue.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED. Current ServeSafe certification is required. A minimum of two years of experience in a serving role is preferred.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • Ability to produce high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude and strong customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of sanitary practices and maintenance of grooming standards.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate with other staff members.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively and pay attention to detail.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


The physical requirements for this position include the ability to move throughout the facility, stand for extended periods during events, and communicate effectively.

This role may involve working indoors or outdoors based on event needs and may expose the employee to loud sounds during certain events. The position requires stooping and lifting, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. to waist height.
