We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to oversee Angel's Flight, a shelter catering to homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth aged 10-17. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply committed to making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable youth, including those who are refugees or immigrant children.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of shelter operations, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment.
- Provide counseling to residents and staff regarding shelter-related matters; assist with case management.
- Contribute to policy formulation, fundraising initiatives, public relations, budgeting, staffing, and program development.
- Oversee budget management, review purchasing activities, and ensure adequate supply levels.
- Assist in the planning and execution of shelter programs.
- Engage in fundraising efforts and community outreach.
- Implement, monitor, and report on quality improvement plans and objectives.
- Conduct assessments to identify community needs prior to program development.
- Address personnel issues and enforce existing policies.
- Develop new policies to adapt to program changes.
- Maintain relationships with community agencies and stakeholders for fundraising purposes.
- Supervise staff and volunteer schedules, ensuring effective management.
- Train, evaluate, and support assigned staff members.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- A Bachelor's degree in social work, behavioral sciences, human services, or a related field is required.
- One to three years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is essential.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, including both written and verbal communication.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Frequent travel is required; a valid class C driver's license is necessary.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities are essential.
The position requires working from 4:00 pm to 12:00 am, totaling 40 hours per week with a rotating schedule.
