Job Summary:

The Resident Advisor ROP will provide shelter supervision and delivery of residential services to residents within the framework of the Mission Statement, Five Principles. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with at-risk youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide custodial supervision of the shelter, including coverage of various areas of the facility.
  • Support Case Managers and Supervisors in providing residential services, including signing out TAP cards, packing and storing belongings, and inspecting the facility for safety and maintenance.
  • Log medication and document resident medication intake.
  • Answer telephones and monitor resident telephone calls.
  • Complete work orders and requisitions as needed.
  • Build rapport with residents and work directly with them to address their needs.
  • Supervise residents during meal times and inspect common areas and bedrooms for cleanliness.
  • Monitor residents in the clothing room and be alert to their surroundings at all times.
  • Function as Person in Charge (PIC) as designated.
  • Provide support to Human Trafficking victims and residents with higher mental health needs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate in-house group activities for residents.
  • Assist with supervision of residents during special activities and outings.
  • Be timely and present at all scheduled meetings, including transitions, staff meetings, and trainings.
  • Document resident files, critical incident reports, and other necessary forms.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma preferred; relevant life and/or work experience will be considered in lieu of HS Diploma.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working with at-risk youth.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Outlook, ACCESS, etc.).
  • Valid CA driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion, bend, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
