Citi Community Capital (CCC) within Citi's Institutional Credit Management (ICM) Division is looking for a Multifamily Underwriting Analyst.

Citi Community Capital (CCC) offers a range of financial solutions aimed at assisting affordable housing developers in the construction, rehabilitation, refinancing, and acquisition of affordable multifamily housing nationwide. The primary goal is to finance new construction and preserve affordable and workforce rental housing, along with office, retail, warehouse/industrial, multifamily, hotel, and self-storage properties for Citigroup.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with bankers to underwrite requests for commercial credit extensions for both new and existing clients, ensuring sound credit decisions and adherence to internal procedures and credit risk policies.
  • Prepare comprehensive written credit summaries for commercial applicants by analyzing their business, interpreting financial needs, identifying strengths and risks, and making final credit decisions.
  • Conduct industry and geographical research and perform due diligence as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with Citibank credit policies and regulatory standards to maintain satisfactory ratings from auditors.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support business unit and company objectives.
  • Assess risk appropriately in business decisions, considering the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Degree in Quantitative Fields such as Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Business Finance, or Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in credit risk management or equivalent training, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Ability to apply credit and risk principles towards achieving business objectives.
  • Demonstrated capability to synthesize, prioritize, and drive results with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide analytical and transactional support to the construction asset management team.
  • Assist Asset Managers in reviewing and processing credit actions during construction, including loan extensions and classified credit reviews.
  • Collaborate with Asset Managers for annual reviews of client relationships.
  • Participate in the credit approval process by assembling credit packages for risk management review and drafting necessary documentation.
  • Support Asset Managers in managing the pipeline of active credit actions during construction.
  • Assist with monthly reporting responsibilities, including updates on lease-up status and upcoming loan maturities.
  • Engage in internal and external deal team discussions, addressing deal-specific issues with team members.
  • Assist Asset Managers with ongoing relationship management during construction and loan modifications.
  • Interact externally with borrowers, agencies, syndicators, legal counsel, and other transaction parties.
