Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Amerant Bank is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to become a vital part of our financial team. The successful candidate will be tasked with evaluating and advising on risk elements associated with substantial, intricate structures and transactions pertaining to Commercial and Industrial (C&I) as well as Corporate Enterprises. The primary objective will be to deliver independent and unbiased evaluations, monitor relationship dynamics, assess credit risk, and propose suitable credit solutions for the designated portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial statements, perform thorough evaluations, and prepare credit approval documentation in accordance with Bank credit standards and policies.
  • Examine and evaluate the financial health and operational performance of commercial and corporate entities for both new and existing loan exposures.
  • Provide a risk assessment for various loan types within the framework of the Bank's credit policies.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to refine underwriting practices.
  • Support the training of new credit analysts and interns.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations and internal policies concerning risk management.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance is required; a Master's degree is preferred, or 3+ years of commercial credit analysis experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in lending and/or credit analysis is essential.
  • A comprehensive understanding of credit processes, programs, and policies is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
