This role is integral to the credit risk management process, ensuring the maintenance of high credit quality across the assigned portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize financial spreading software to analyze financial statements and prepare detailed credit approval packages in accordance with bank policies.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of the financial health and operational performance of commercial and corporate entities for both new and existing loan exposures.
  • Provide independent evaluations of risk factors associated with various credit facilities, including revolving lines of credit and asset-based loans, and recommend appropriate conditions to mitigate identified risks.
  • Meet the expectation of completing at least one comprehensive financial analysis weekly, ensuring accuracy in credit risk assessment with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to enhance underwriting information quality and serve as a consultant on credit-related matters.
  • Act as a resource for business lines, working closely with senior management on various credit issues.
  • Support the training of new credit analysts and interns, guiding them through departmental procedures and credit analysis formats.
  • Identify and assess potential risks to earnings or capital, recommending necessary actions to mitigate these risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies, particularly concerning BSA, USA Patriot Act, and AML issues.
  • Participate in committees and external organizations, representing the Credit Services Unit and the bank.
  • Assist in structuring loans and reviewing legal covenants to ensure alignment with bank policies.
  • Work with Portfolio Management to monitor and renew upcoming loan maturities, process modifications, and identify potential issues within the portfolio.
  • Conduct analysis and underwriting support for portfolio managers, ensuring compliance with credit underwriting policies.
  • Operate loan origination and modification software systems effectively.
  • Perform annual reviews of existing credit relationships, recommending adjustments to risk ratings as necessary.
  • Monitor the assigned portfolio for adherence to credit policies and recommend actions when deviations occur.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections, reporting findings as required.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends through ongoing training and seminars.

Education and Certification Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance is required; a Master’s degree is preferred, or 3+ years of relevant commercial credit analysis experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Formal credit training is mandatory.

Experience Requirements:

At least 5 years of professional experience in lending or credit analysis, with a solid understanding of banking products and documentation.

Essential Knowledge:

A comprehensive understanding of the bank's credit procedures, programs, and policies is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required, while experience with Salesforce, nCino, and FIS IBS is advantageous. Strong organizational and time management skills, along with excellent communication abilities, are necessary for success in this role.
