Position Overview

The Senior Credit Analyst role is designed to deliver advanced analytical expertise in the evaluation and assessment of commercial credit portfolios. This position plays a crucial role in supporting Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers in fostering client relationships. A Senior Credit Analyst is expected to provide in-depth credit analysis for designated lending relationships while also mentoring Client Specialists and junior Credit Analysts regarding lending protocols and underwriting standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and adeptly manages multiple priorities within a fast-paced setting.

Core Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial statements and deliver analytical support essential for underwriting intricate Commercial and Industrial (C&I) loans.
  • Proactively manage workflow to ensure timely completion of production tasks, including financial statement analysis, updating loan requests, and monitoring compliance with loan covenants.
  • Engage in transaction structuring and strategic relationship discussions with management and credit partners to substantiate analytical findings.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit approval documentation within the commercial loan system, ensuring accurate representation of loan terms, collateral, covenants, and credit exposure.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to oversee and manage assigned commercial loan portfolios, including tracking covenants and assessing company performance.
  • Participate in internal credit discussions with various stakeholders and represent the organization in external client meetings.
  • Lead or contribute to special projects and additional assignments as required.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of ownership regarding personal performance metrics and team objectives, demonstrating flexibility in meeting deadlines and attention to detail.
  • Identify and communicate significant changes or trends in borrowers' financial statements during the credit approval process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Two to four years of relevant experience in Financial Services, Banking, Credit Analysis, or a related field.
  • Prior experience as a Credit Analyst I or in a similar capacity is preferred.
  • Familiarity with corporate credit products and financial data analysis processes.
  • Solid understanding of general banking operations and the commercial lending framework.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or nCino applications is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret financial reports and legal documents, perform calculations, and effectively analyze information to inform decision-making.
