Role Overview:
The Manager of HR Information Systems and Compensation Strategy will report directly to the Director of Payroll and Compensation. This pivotal role involves the independent oversight of data management and systems within the human resources division. The incumbent will be tasked with gathering, analyzing, and reporting on HR data, metrics, and statistics, leveraging this information to inform process enhancements and provide strategic recommendations concerning workforce planning, compensation frameworks, and compliance with legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Aggregate and analyze HR metrics and data from diverse sources, including HR information systems and payroll outputs, employee surveys, exit interviews, and government labor statistics.
  • Identify trends and patterns in data related to recruitment, retention, performance, and compliance with employment legislation.
  • Evaluate data to inform changes regarding job roles, compensation structures, and other HR processes.
  • Administer the compensation framework for staff members.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing data findings and present insights to leadership.
  • Establish and recommend both short- and long-term objectives, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance indicators.
  • Utilize data insights to propose policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing organizational culture, improving candidate attraction, and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Facilitate the rollout of new procedures, programs, and training initiatives.
  • Oversee the review and approval process for job descriptions.
  • Conduct or assist in classification and compensation audits to ensure accurate job classifications.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations and best practices.
  • Support performance, benefits, and compensation review processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to advance departmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to HR colleagues as necessary.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives, special projects, and events as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong customer service orientation, characterized by responsiveness and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment-related laws at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Proficient in technology, including Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, and payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with HR operations encompassing hiring, payroll, and employee benefits.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in analytics is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of best practices in higher education HR services.
  • Experience with Workday or similar systems.
  • Background in job classification, compensation, employee benefits, or equal opportunity compliance is advantageous.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
