We are seeking a highly skilled Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As an IAM Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our IAM systems, ensuring the security and integrity of our digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement IAM Systems: Develop and implement IAM systems, including integrations with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms and other systems of record.
  • Manage Access Control: Manage access control and entitlements to various platforms and services, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive information.
  • Monitor and Report: Monitor and report on account lifecycles, service entitlements, and access auditing, ensuring that our IAM systems are functioning correctly.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with IT colleagues and campus partners to develop policies and procedures around account lifecycles, role-based access control, and entitlements.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to ensure that our IAM framework remains effective and compliant.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience configuring and administering IAM systems.
  • Skills: Strong working knowledge of core IAM concepts, tools, protocols, and standards, such as Shibboleth, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with administering IAM products and tools such as AWS IAM, Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, MidPoint, etc.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to document technical infrastructure, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
