Position Overview
The University of Denver is in search of a proactive and skilled Project Coordinator to enhance the operations of the Institute for Comparative and Regional Studies (ICRS). This role is essential for facilitating various programs and supporting research initiatives across the school. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in project coordination, with a focus on public policy or a related discipline, and will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary administrative liaison for ICRS, collaborating closely with the faculty director, affiliated scholars, and external partners.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of events, workshops, and meetings with diverse stakeholders, including government officials and academic professionals.
  • Manage communication efforts, including drafting reports, event announcements, and maintaining the website and social media platforms.
  • Track financial expenditures, process invoices, and manage budgets in coordination with the School's Business Office.
  • Support grant management and ensure compliance with reporting requirements for research projects.
  • Supervise student employees and assist in managing their schedules and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with various university departments and student organizations to promote the Institute's mission.
  • Provide additional support to the Director and faculty as needed.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in project coordination or administration.
  • Proven ability to plan events and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Experience in budget management and logistical planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications, with a willingness to learn new software.
Preferred Skills
  • A Master's degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability in stakeholder engagement and network development.
  • Experience in creating publications and managing marketing materials.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and event management software.
  • Background in grant writing and management.
Work Environment
The role is situated in a standard office setting, where unexpected interruptions may occur, and the stress level can vary. The position requires the ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally move items weighing up to 20 lbs. This is a part-time role, approximately 20 hours per week, with potential for flexible work arrangements.
