Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sleep Study Specialist to join our team at National Jewish Health. As a Diagnostic Sleep Study Specialist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic sleep study testing and working with interdisciplinary teams to provide safe and personalized care for patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic sleep study testing to assist physicians in diagnosing sleep breathing conditions.
  • Prepare patients for examination, take vital signs, and document results in electronic medical records.
  • Analyze diagnostic sleep study data and prepare required documentation.
  • Operate and maintain sleep study equipment, adhering to hospital and department safety policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement processes and maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff and apply PAP therapies and medications as needed.

Requirements:
  • **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • **Work Experience**: Proficiency in all competencies required of a Trainee I and Trainee II, with a minimum of 10.5 months of clinical polysomnography experience or equivalent.
  • **Special Training, Certification or Licensure**: Certification as a Registered Polysomnography Sleep Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent required, with a commitment to maintaining credentialing per the AASM, BRPT, AAST, and/or equivalent certifying body.
