Position Overview
We invite applications for part-time affiliate faculty roles in Indigenous Studies. Instructors may be responsible for delivering courses such as Introduction to Indigenous Studies, Indigenous Politics, and Federal Indian Law.

Key Responsibilities
Affiliate faculty in Indigenous Studies may teach between 3 to 9 credit hours across various courses. There is a particular demand for instructors in Federal Indian Law, although other subjects may also be taught based on the instructor's expertise. Teaching may occur in-person, online, or in hybrid formats.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering course content effectively, whether in-person or online.
- Preparing instructional materials and lesson plans.
- Assessing student work and providing timely feedback.
- Addressing student inquiries in accordance with departmental policies.
- Maintaining office hours and offering academic support as needed.
- Complying with university policies regarding course content and student evaluations.
Instructors are encouraged to adapt to various teaching methods and demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse educational needs of our student population.
Qualifications
Required: A Master's degree in Indigenous Studies or a closely related discipline.
Preferred:
- A Doctorate in Indigenous Studies or a related field, or a JD with experience in Indigenous law.
- Prior teaching experience in Indigenous Studies.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, first-generation students, and others.
Employment Terms
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees, engaged on a per credit hour basis for specific courses. These positions do not offer benefits, and teaching assignments are contingent upon budgetary considerations and enrollment numbers.
Compensation
Salary is determined based on the number of credit hours assigned, following university policy.
