Position Overview

The Senior Event Technology Specialist plays a crucial role in the technical execution and management of high-quality production events within a hospitality setting, prioritizing exceptional client satisfaction. This role reports to an Associate Director or Director of Project Management within the designated area.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management
  • Guarantees a seamless event through precise and timely setup, operation, and dismantling of sophisticated audiovisual equipment as detailed in the technical specifications.
  • Diagnoses technical challenges and swiftly resolves issues as they occur.
  • Adheres to all company security and safety protocols.
  • Ensures the protection of equipment from theft and/or damage during use.
Client Engagement
  • Delivers outstanding service and aims to surpass the expectations of both internal and external clients.
  • Maintains a constructive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
  • Collaborates with the internal team on event solutions before and during the event to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Understands and nurtures the relationship between the hotel and the client.
Training and Development
  • Fosters an environment that encourages the growth of technical and leadership skills among team members.
  • Provides guidance and coaching to technical, sales, and operations personnel to enhance their technical capabilities.
  • Develops expertise as a subject matter expert in their area of specialization.
  • Stays updated with technological advancements and industry trends.
Event Oversight
  • Engages in advanced tasks (pre/during/post event) alongside operations team members.
  • Supervises and directs fellow technicians throughout the event.
Equipment Care
  • Assists the team with the proper security, storage, inventory, transportation, and upkeep of equipment.
  • Conducts inventory assessments and forecasts equipment requirements.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in event technology, specializing in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video is required.
  • 4-5 years of experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
  • Internal team members must fulfill all training prerequisites to qualify for this position.
  • New team members must complete all training requirements within 60 days of hire.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce, customer base, and senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for team members in roles that may require operating company vehicles. Additional DOT requirements may apply.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor conditions and potential exposure to dirt, sand, and dust. Working conditions may vary from moderately quiet to noisy environments. Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components and may work at heights using lifts and ladders. Flexibility in working hours is required, including irregular hours and on-call status, which may encompass days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

In a warehouse setting, work will be performed in environments with exposure to outdoor temperatures and similar conditions. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by the company, whether in a warehouse or traveling to various venues.
