Position Overview: The Information Security Specialist is tasked with the proficient execution and management of cyber incident response strategies. This includes preparation for incidents, detection and response to security threats, and collaboration with various teams within Inovalon. The ideal candidate will be part of the Cyber Security Operations Center Team and must possess advanced technical skills to safeguard our systems, applications, and data from cyber threats while adapting to evolving challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate responses to security incidents, focusing on containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Employ advanced tools and techniques to identify and assess potential threats to our environment.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations into security breaches, delivering detailed analyses and reports.
  • Monitor security events and alerts to protect company assets and mitigate risks in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for security applications and devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security measures and best practices organization-wide.
  • Maintain precise records of incidents, investigations, and actions taken; provide clear and concise reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures, and mission statement.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as specified in Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures.
  • Fulfill responsibilities and duties that contribute to the operational and financial success of the company.
  • Uphold responsibilities related to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your role.

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in the information security domain.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a Security Analyst or similar capacity.
  • Proven experience in monitoring, analyzing, and triaging network events in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cyber incident management, including applying lessons learned.
  • Extensive experience in reviewing and integrating raw log files, performing data correlation and analysis (e.g., firewall, IDS, and system logs).
  • Experience with SIEM and EDR tools (e.g., SPLUNK, CrowdStrike, Rapid7), including tuning and procedure development.
  • Familiarity with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools such as SourceFire, FireEye, Forcepoint, McAfee EPO, AMP, Umbrella, and TrendMicro.
  • Experience with Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS/IDS).
  • In-depth knowledge of current threat actors, techniques, and trends in cybersecurity.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to train, guide, and mentor team members.
  • Preferred industry certifications include CISSP, CEH, Sec+, CySA+, or similar.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in a technical field or equivalent experience.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily sedentary work, involving long periods of sitting.
  • Occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
  • Frequent or constant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects and repetitive motions.
  • Work is subject to indoor environmental conditions.
  • Travel for this position is minimal, typically less than 5%, usually for training purposes.
