Position Title: Vice President, Clinical Development - Immunology & Rheumatology
Location: South San Francisco - Hybrid
Remote: Non-local candidates considered
Overview:
We are in search of a distinguished leader to take on a critical role within our esteemed client organization. This position will be essential in defining and implementing our strategy in Immunology, providing direction in classical complement-mediated autoimmune diseases across our product line. The Vice President will also be instrumental in guiding clinical and medical strategies from early-phase trials through Proof-of-Concept studies and beyond, playing a significant role in drug candidate submissions, approvals, and commercialization efforts. We are looking for a highly experienced professional with extensive knowledge in immunology and rheumatology, a successful history in drug development, and robust leadership capabilities dedicated to advancing groundbreaking therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Development:
- Oversee medical management for early-phase and Proof-of-Concept studies, including data assessment, site communications, and ensuring document integrity.
- Lead clinical strategy and protocol formulation for drug development initiatives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement clinical trials, ensuring adherence to regulations and supporting medical monitoring functions.
- Represent the Immunology division in external collaborations.
Strategic Leadership:
- Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of clinical programs.
- Work closely with Research to integrate drug discovery insights into development initiatives.
- Provide medical leadership for Key Opinion Leader engagement, Advisory Committee interactions, and regulatory strategies.
- Encourage innovation and differentiation through thorough data analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Facilitate alignment across Research & Development, Translational Medicine, Regulatory Affairs, and commercial teams.
- Act as a liaison between Immunology and executive leadership, delivering updates on portfolio progress and strategic initiatives.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, innovation, and accountability.
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in medicine or a related field; Medical Degree preferred with subspecialty training in Immunology and Rheumatology.
- A minimum of 15 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors, focusing on Immunology and Rheumatology drug development.
- Proven track record in leadership and commercialization of Immunologic or Rheumatologic products.
- In-depth understanding of immunologic diseases, drug development processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute strategic plans, innovate, and achieve results in dynamic environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in complex scientific and clinical presentations.
- Expertise in regulatory interactions and successful submissions.
