Position Title: Vice President, Clinical Development - Immunology & Rheumatology
Location: South San Francisco - Hybrid

Overview:
We are in search of a distinguished leader to take on a vital role within our esteemed client’s organization. This position will be instrumental in formulating and implementing our Immunology strategy, providing direction in classical complement-mediated autoimmune disorders throughout our product range. The Vice President will also be essential in steering clinical and medical strategies from Phase 1 through Proof-of-Concept studies and beyond, contributing to the submission, approval, and commercialization of drug candidates. We are looking for a highly experienced professional with profound knowledge in immunology and rheumatology, a successful history in drug development, and exceptional leadership capabilities committed to advancing pioneering therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Development:
- Oversee medical supervision for Phase 1 and Proof-of-Concept studies, including data evaluation, site communication, and ensuring document integrity.
- Lead clinical strategy and protocol formulation for drug development initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to carry out clinical trials, ensuring adherence to regulations and supporting medical monitoring tasks.
- Represent the Immunology division in external interactions.
Strategic Leadership:
- Contribute to strategic planning and execution efforts.
- Work alongside Research to incorporate drug discovery insights into development initiatives.
- Provide medical leadership for Key Opinion Leader engagement, Advisory Committee interactions, and regulatory strategies.
- Encourage innovation and differentiation through thorough data analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Ensure alignment across R&D, Translational Medicine, Regulatory Affairs, and commercial teams.
- Act as a liaison between Immunology and executive leadership, delivering updates on portfolio advancements and strategic projects.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, innovation, and accountability.
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in medicine or a related field; Medical Degree preferred with subspecialty training in Immunology and Rheumatology.
- A minimum of 15 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors, focusing on Immunology and Rheumatology drug development.
- Proven track record in leadership and commercialization of Immunologic or Rheumatologic products.
- In-depth understanding of immunologic diseases, drug development processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans, innovate, and achieve results in dynamic settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in complex scientific and clinical presentations.
- Expertise in regulatory interactions and successful submissions.
