Position Overview:


We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting complex systems to support critical missions.

The ideal candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on experience in the design, installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise-level systems.

A strong team-oriented and customer-centric approach is essential due to the diverse locations and user base. Your contributions will play a vital role in supporting national defense initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:


• Implement security protocols as outlined in the security strategy, ensuring timely assessments of network resources and software updates.
• Provide effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of production Linux servers in a virtualized environment.
• Apply compliance controls to secure systems effectively.
• Conduct daily monitoring of system performance, security, server health, and resource management for both Linux and Windows systems.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on system configurations, backups, file systems, and user access issues.
• Support various platforms hosting applications and security tools.
• Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to fulfill your responsibilities.
• Diagnose hardware, networking, and software issues in a multi-node environment.
• Configure and install operating systems and application software on physical and virtual machines.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to address off-hours issues.
• Create and maintain documentation for software and system updates.
• Engage in peer reviews of software design efforts and concepts.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for formal education.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Linux/UNIX system administration.
• Must possess a DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security +, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP) and be able to obtain the necessary environment certification within six months of employment.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies, remote desktop management, and related tools is required.

Preferred Experience:
• Direct experience with network architecture, data flows, firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Knowledge of backup solutions such as Veeam.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically, even in the absence of extensive documentation.
• Excellent communication skills for customer interactions.
• Project management capabilities.

Security Requirements:
• Must possess a fully adjudicated Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
