Department Overview
The Field Service Organization (FSO) plays a vital role in the deployment and upkeep of sophisticated communication systems at client sites. Collaborating closely with System Managers, Engineers, Sales teams, Project Managers, and Service Partners, the FSO ensures the successful execution of assigned projects. Our team is always on standby to support Public Safety Customers during their most critical times.
Job Responsibilities
- The Senior Technical Field Specialist is accountable for the post-sale setup, enhancement, maintenance, and oversight of advanced communication systems.
- Emphasize maintaining peak performance across integrated systems while proactively addressing system alarms and errors.
- Conduct hardware and software installations and optimizations, employing advanced troubleshooting techniques.
- Oversee system uptime through regular maintenance and performance assessments.
- Implement preventative maintenance strategies to guarantee optimal system functionality, focusing on trend analysis and documentation.
- Devise solutions for complex technical challenges encountered during system implementations, upgrades, or support scenarios.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of the latest technologies and troubleshooting methodologies in transport, communications, and RF systems.
- Collaborate with System Managers, Engineers, Project Managers, Sales teams, and Service Partners to effectively design, implement, optimize, and transition advanced communication systems that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Involvement in NG911 infrastructure setup, optimization, and maintenance.
- Engage in NICE Public Safety system installation, optimization, and maintenance.
- Act as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting at the sub-system level.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Motorola Astro P25 Communication Systems, VHF, UHF, 700/800 Public Radio systems, and 911/ECW/Airbus equipment.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent technical certification, project management, IT certification, or military technical certification.
- Experience with one or more of the following: P25 radio systems, NICE public safety loggers, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, IT networks.
- Strong understanding of wired/wireless communication systems, including LAN and WAN, with proficiency in network installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Knowledgeable in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, along with packet switching techniques.
- Highly proficient in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Exceptional self-management and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with customers and partner organizations.
- Self-driven and capable of executing responsibilities independently.
- Adept at resolving customer issues promptly, even in high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with equipment used for optimizing and testing Motorola Two-Way radio systems.
- Experience in configuring and testing Motorola two-way radio and subscriber products.
- Solid understanding of Motorola Trunking, P25, and SmartZone systems.
- Committed to achieving optimal system performance.
- Ability to develop and deliver technical training sessions.
- Provide guidance in integrating new tools and solutions into team operations.
- Participation in an on-call rotation once a month.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%-50% within designated regions as necessary.
- CET certification required within six months of employment.
- Possession of an FCC License and relevant industry certifications is advantageous.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain necessary background clearance as mandated by government clients.
Basic Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Networking Equipment, Astro/P25, or related fields.
