Position Summary:

ATS' Global Services team is an innovative and proactive group that focuses on delivering value-driven services to clients around the globe. This sector is expanding and presents an opportunity for a resourceful individual to establish a structured offering of high-value service solutions that enhance ongoing customer satisfaction.

As a Cost Estimator/Planner, your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Clients to identify their requirements. You will then develop the associated costs, prepare the necessary documentation for management review, and communicate project scopes to Program Management once contracts are secured.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design service solutions utilizing your expertise in automation and standard service offerings.
  • Oversee the proposal development process, including crafting detailed service proposals based on the standard service product library.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers regarding the scope of equipment purchases.
  • Engage with Sales, Engineering, Clients, and Supply Chain to formulate proposals that meet customer specifications.
  • Calculate costs for service solutions and related options, adhering to governance and approval protocols.
  • Involve relevant engineering, management, and technical resources in the development of service concepts and cost estimations as needed.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and suppliers during the quoting process when necessary.
  • Travel up to 10% to client sites across the U.S. and Canada for service assessments and solution development.
  • Provide insights to account capture teams and assist in executing sales strategies.
  • Foster customer relationships, showcasing ATS' service and technical capabilities.
  • Deliver presentations to client personnel as required.
  • Support special projects related to services, engineering, and sales & marketing as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for team engagement both within and outside the development team.
  • Pursue skill enhancement and professional development opportunities, staying informed about innovative solutions and industry best practices. Share knowledge and insights with the team.
  • Comply with divisional health, safety, and environmental protocols and participate in all required training.
  • Ensure all business activities are conducted with the highest ethical standards and in accordance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.

Qualifications:

A post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical design, mechatronics, engineering, or a related field with a focus on Machine Design, Controls, and Robotics is required.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical or controls engineering support, purchasing, and prior proposal or estimating experience is essential.

Proficiency in AutoCad, Solidworks, Machines, Conveyors, and Robots is necessary, along with familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and produce well-organized documentation.

Demonstrated ability to embrace and promote modern technologies and methodologies is essential.
