As a Cost Estimator and Applications Specialist, you will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Clients to identify tailored solutions that meet their needs. Your role will encompass the development of cost estimates associated with these solutions, along with the preparation of proposal documents for management evaluation. Following project approval, you will communicate the project scope to Program Management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design service solutions utilizing your expertise in automation and standard service offerings.
  • Oversee the creation of proposals, ensuring detailed service documentation is crafted using the standard service product library.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers regarding the specifications of the purchased equipment.
  • Engage with Sales, Engineering, Clients, and Supply Chain to formulate solutions that address customer requirements.
  • Calculate costs for service solutions and associated options, adhering to governance and approval protocols.
  • Incorporate relevant engineering, management, and technical resources in the development of service concepts and cost estimates as necessary.
  • Engage third-party vendors and suppliers in the quoting process when appropriate.
  • Travel up to 10% to client locations in the U.S. and Canada to support service evaluations and solution development.
  • Contribute insights to account capture teams and assist in executing sales strategies.
  • Foster customer relationships, showcasing service and technical capabilities.
  • Deliver presentations to customer personnel as needed.
  • Support special projects across services, engineering, and sales & marketing as required.
  • Identify opportunities for team engagement both within and outside the development team.
  • Actively seek opportunities for skill enhancement and professional growth, staying informed on innovative solutions and industry best practices. Share knowledge and insights with the team.
  • Adhere to divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures and complete all required training.
  • Ensure all business activities are conducted with the utmost ethical standards and in compliance with the Code of Business Conduct.
Qualifications:
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical design, mechatronics, engineering, or a related field with a focus on Machine Design, Controls, and Robotics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical or controls engineering support, purchasing, and prior quoting/applications experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and familiar with Machines, Conveyors, Robots, and Leak Testing, while keeping up with cutting-edge technology.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is essential.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating ideas clearly and leading team discussions.
  • Encourage the adoption of modern technologies and methodologies within the team.
