Role Overview
The Buyer will play a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing process and achieving business unit objectives. This position is responsible for managing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for a designated product line or commodity, ensuring customer satisfaction while effectively managing costs.

Key Responsibilities
Essential duties include:

  • Meeting or exceeding performance metrics such as:
  • Reduction of lead times
  • Supplier On-Time Performance
  • Cost and Quality Management
  • Management of Scheduling Agreements and Vendor Managed Inventory
  • Daily activities include:
  • Overseeing purchased material master data
  • Managing scheduling agreements
  • Implementing cost reduction initiatives
  • Aligning supplier resourcing with corporate commodity strategies
  • Conducting price negotiations and managing costs
  • Building and maintaining key supplier relationships.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, logistics, or a related field required, or 8+ years of relevant Supply Chain experience.

Preferred Skills and Abilities
Candidates should possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiation, planning, and analysis
  • Prior knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is preferred
  • Ability to interpret and communicate basic engineered drawings and specifications
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Proven ability to develop effective processes and drive results
  • Influencing skills to secure resources and implement changes
  • Capacity to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Experience in implementing project plans and schedules
  • Aptitude for effective and prompt problem-solving
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
