Position Overview:

Are you eager to contribute to a forward-thinking organization where your insights are valued? As a Cost Estimation Engineer, you will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Clients to identify tailored solutions that meet their requirements. Your role will involve calculating the costs associated with these solutions, drafting the proposal documentation, and preparing all necessary bid materials for management evaluation. Once a project is secured, you will communicate the project scope to Program Management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design service solutions utilizing your expertise in automation and standard service offerings.
  • Oversee the development of proposals, including crafting detailed service proposals using the standard service product library.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers regarding the specifications of the purchased equipment.
  • Engage with Sales, Engineering, Clients, and Supply Chain to formulate solutions that align with customer needs.
  • Calculate costs for service solutions and related options, adhering to governance and approval protocols.
  • Incorporate relevant engineering, management, and technical resources in the development of service concepts and cost estimations as necessary.
  • Engage third-party vendors and suppliers in the quoting process when required.
  • Travel as needed to customer locations across the U.S. and Canada to assist in service evaluations and solution development.
  • Provide insights to account capture teams and support the execution of sales strategies.
  • Foster customer relationships, showcasing service and technical capabilities.
  • Deliver sales presentations to client personnel as needed.
  • Assist with special projects related to services, engineering, and sales & marketing as required.
  • Identify opportunities for team engagement both within and outside the development team.
  • Actively seek opportunities for skill enhancement and professional growth, staying informed about innovative solutions and industry best practices. Share knowledge and lessons learned with the team.
  • Adhere to divisional health, safety, and environmental protocols and participate in all required training.
  • Ensure all business activities are conducted with the utmost ethical standards and in compliance with the Code of Business Conduct.
Qualifications:
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical design, mechatronics, engineering, or a related field with a focus on Machine Design, Controls, and Robotics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical or controls engineering support, purchasing, and prior quoting/applications experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and knowledgeable about Machines, Conveyors, Robots, and Leak Testing, with a commitment to staying updated on cutting-edge technology.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating ideas clearly, producing well-organized documentation, and leading team discussions.
  • Encourage the adoption of modern technologies and methodologies within the team.
