Telecommunications Specialist

The Telecommunications Technician - Unified Communications Specialist will play a critical role in managing and supporting the full spectrum of analog, digital, and Unified Communications (UC) systems at our customers' sites.
This position will be responsible for leading the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of UC systems, including migrating existing on-premises services to cloud-based solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications, with a focus on UC systems, VOIP, and the migration of on-premises services to cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities- Unified Communications Implementation: Lead the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of UC systems, ensuring seamless communication operations across enterprise-wide networks.
- Voice and Data Communications: Manage and support voice and data communications hardware and software systems, including VOIP, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Network Design & Development: Participate in the design, development, and implementation of communication systems and networks, ensuring they meet current and future business needs.
- Installation & Maintenance: Oversee the installation, termination, splicing, testing, and certification of fiber optic and copper cabling infrastructure.
- System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of new communication technologies with existing systems, coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting, testing, and repair services for communication systems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and installations, ensuring all work adheres to industry standards, codes, and legal regulations.
- Customer Engagement: Establish and maintain strong customer relationships by providing expert advice, resolving concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with communication services.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications, with a strong focus on UC systems, VOIP, and the migration of on-premises services to cloud environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in the installation, configuration, programming, and maintenance of telecommunication hardware, software, and fiber optic/copper cabling.
- Cloud & UC Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of cloud-based communication platforms and experience in transitioning from on-premises to cloud-based UC solutions.
- Blueprint & Cable Design: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, cable designs, and technical specifications.
- Security Compliance: The successful candidate must pass a rigorous background check and be compliant with federal tax requirements.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in telecommunications, cloud-based UC systems, and fiber optics.
- Project Management: Experience leading projects related to the migration of communication services to the cloud.
- Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in telecommunications and cloud technologies through ongoing education and technical publications.
