Academic Program Specialist

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Program Specialist to join our team at The University of Texas at Austin. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing academic curriculum, leading professional development, and supervising undergraduate and graduate students seeking English, History, Social Studies, and Languages Other Than English (LOTE) certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement academic curriculum for undergraduate and graduate students
- Lead professional development for faculty and staff
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement educational programs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a liberal arts field
- Must hold or have held teacher certification in a liberal arts field
- 15 years of experience teaching in middle school or high school, as administrator, or evaluator in EC-12 settings
- Experience developing academic curriculum, leading professional development, and demonstrated expertise with educational technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in a liberal arts field
- Demonstrated potential to supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students at a large research university
- Training and experience in social emotional learning and trauma-informed instruction as related to education
- Knowledge of the Texas Teacher Standards
