Tetra Tech is seeking an Environmental Project Specialist to oversee and assist with environmental assessment and remediation initiatives. The specialist will contribute to our environmental consulting services across various regions, focusing on the evaluation of soil and groundwater conditions stemming from historical operations and waste management practices.

Your Responsibilities:

  • The selected individual will engage in a variety of tasks that necessitate the application of scientific, engineering, or geological analytical methods, along with managing budgets and schedules at the task level.
  • The primary focus will be to assist Senior Project Managers in handling smaller projects and tasks for current clients, as well as managing field investigations, which may include soil and soil gas sampling, groundwater sampling, borehole drilling, and well installations.
  • Prepare or assist in the creation of work plans, sampling and analysis plans, remedial investigation reports, groundwater monitoring plans and reports, and Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • All documentation will be developed under the supervision of a Senior or Principal Geologist/Engineer/Scientist.
  • Support Senior Project Managers in the preparation of proposals.
  • This position will necessitate fieldwork, including drilling, soil, soil gas, and groundwater sampling, data collection, and the preparation of field documentation (e.g., field notes, laboratory Chain of Custodies). Some travel may be required.
Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will possess a degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, biology, environmental science, or a related technical field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting or similar sectors.
  • Preferred experiences include:

    •Expertise in geological, engineering, scientific, or general environmental projects and data analysis.

    •Field experience in subsurface soil, soil gas, and groundwater sampling, drilling, and well installation for hazardous waste site characterization, aquifer testing, remedial system installation, and operational maintenance.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000. Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining compensation, including education, relevant work experience, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies pertinent to the business needs.
