Location

Stantec is seeking a Project Engineer to enhance our California Central Coast team. We have local offices strategically positioned to support your career without necessitating relocation. We also accommodate various remote work arrangements, allowing you to be part of our close-knit team while contributing to significant projects across the Golden State.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical expert and advisor within the transportation engineering sector on related projects.
  • Develop designs for roadway geometric horizontal and vertical alignments.
  • Create designs for road striping.
  • Prepare estimates for construction quantities and conduct basic cost analysis.
  • Contribute to the formulation of traffic engineering studies and reports.
  • Serve as the project design engineer for local municipality transportation initiatives.
  • Assist the Project Manager in compiling reports and project design components, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Generate detailed, high-quality final design plans, specifications, and estimates in compliance with applicable procedures and standards.
  • Utilize CAD software to create two- and three-dimensional models of roadway designs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in California, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Comprehensive understanding of all phases of project documentation and the interplay between drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient knowledge of civil systems, methodologies, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (such as AutoCAD Civil3D and accepted hydrology and hydraulic programs).
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
