Job Summary

Education & Training Resources LLC is seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an effective trainee employee assistance program (TEAP) that promotes substance abuse awareness, prevention, and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments of students to identify those who may be in need of intervention due to substance use.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students who require intervention.
  • Participate in the orientation of new students during the Career Preparation Period.
  • Ensure students who test positive for drugs are retested within the 45-day probationary period.
  • Provide follow-up counseling to students who have completed TEAP to encourage and prevent relapse.
  • Develop and implement prevention education programs for all student employees.
  • Conduct in-service training sessions with staff and students on substance use and abuse.
  • Collaborate with the recreational department to develop leisure activities and incentives that promote an alcohol and drug-free lifestyle.
  • Recommend medical separation with reinstatement for students who require substance abuse treatment.
  • Maintain confidential reports and records on referrals and cases.
  • Collaborate with the Center for Mental Health and Counseling (CMHC).
Requirements
  • State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
