POSITION SUMMARY:


We are actively seeking a temporary Program Administrator II - Communications and Operations Coordinator to assist the Office of Food Systems Resilience (OFSR).

This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage and operates in a hybrid model, requiring in-person attendance a few days a week based on performance and business requirements.

Core objectives for this role include:
Engaging with public and private sector stakeholders to disseminate information, deliver effective and culturally appropriate technical assistance, and facilitate access to resources;

Gathering insights and feedback to shape County policies and programs; Collaborating with diverse food system stakeholders, including food assistance organizations, agricultural producers, governmental bodies, social service agencies, community advocacy groups, and residents to equitably implement and sustain innovative strategies while enhancing existing frameworks.


Specific Duties:
As the Communications and Operations Coordinator, you will oversee the administrative functions of OFSR's daily operations, which includes the preparation and submission of required annual plans, reports, and compliance documentation for County governance; ensuring adherence to mandatory training and inter-agency liaison responsibilities; onboarding new personnel; managing supplies; maintaining websites and public communications, including coordinating responses to constituents; and organizing events.

You will also coordinate external communications (such as social media and newsletters), participate in outreach initiatives, and manage survey tools and feedback mechanisms to ensure that policy development and implementation are informed by community insights and enhance public awareness of available resources.

Additionally, you will support contract management, which may involve preparing and processing contract materials and overseeing contractor performance.

Assist the Program Manager with contract renewals, amendments for scope adjustments, and reviewing expenditures and documentation.

Collaborate with Shared Services to facilitate invoice payments as stipulated in the contracts managed under this program.

Analyze, adapt, and implement OFSR's operational and administrative practices related to records management, forms, reports, and various aspects of program organization and administration.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional written and verbal communication, teamwork, and cultural competency skills, including outstanding listening abilities.
Proven knowledge of food systems-related policy issues at local, state, and/or federal levels.
Relevant experience in community-based service delivery and/or coordination is highly preferred.
Experience in program evaluation and process enhancement.
Previous experience in developing communication materials for diverse audiences.
Experience in community outreach and engagement.

This role requires the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and attend meetings or perform tasks at various locations.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Must demonstrate sound judgment and integrity.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to track and report data promptly.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

A minimum of two years of professional experience in public policy and/or community engagement, particularly focused on food systems, human services, social justice, and/or public health.


Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, although evening and weekend hours may be necessary.
