POSITION SUMMARY:


We are seeking a temporary Program Coordinator II (Communications and Operations) to assist the Office of Food Systems Resilience (OFSR).

This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage and operates in a hybrid model, requiring in-person attendance on designated days.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:
Engage with public and private sector stakeholders to disseminate information, provide effective and culturally sensitive technical assistance, and support resource access and administration;

Gather insights and feedback to guide County policies and programs; Collaborate with diverse food system partners, including food assistance providers, agricultural entities, governmental bodies, social services, community advocacy groups, and residents to implement and sustain innovative strategies and enhance existing frameworks.


Role Details:
As the Communications and Operations Coordinator, you will oversee the administrative aspects of OFSR's daily operations, including the execution and submission of essential plans, reports, and compliance documentation for County government; ensure adherence to mandatory training and cross-agency liaison responsibilities; facilitate onboarding for new personnel; manage supplies; maintain websites and public communications, including constituent engagement; and coordinate event logistics.

You will also manage external communications (including social media and newsletters), participate in outreach initiatives, and implement feedback mechanisms to ensure that policy development is informed by community insights, thereby increasing public awareness of available resources.

Support contract management, which may involve preparing and processing contract materials and overseeing contractor performance.

Assist the Program Manager with contract renewals, amendments for scope changes, and reviewing expenditures and documentation.

Collaborate with Shared Services to process invoice payments as stipulated in the contracts managed under this program.

Analyze, adapt, and implement OFSR's operational and administrative practices related to records management, report generation, and various phases of program organization.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:
Exceptional written and verbal communication, teamwork, and cultural competency skills, including strong listening abilities.
Demonstrated understanding of food systems-related policy issues at local, state, and/or federal levels.
Relevant experience in community-based service delivery and/or coordination is strongly preferred.
Applied experience in program evaluation and process enhancement.
Previous experience in developing communication materials for diverse audiences.
Community outreach and engagement experience.

This role requires the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and attend meetings or perform tasks at various locations.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Must exhibit sound judgment and integrity.
Ability to independently prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in tracking and reporting data in a timely manner.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

A minimum of two years of professional experience in public policy and/or community engagement, ideally focusing on food systems, human services, social justice, and/or public health.


Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with potential evening and weekend commitments.
