POSITION SUMMARY:


We are seeking a temporary Program Coordinator II (Communications and Operations) to assist the Office of Food Systems Resilience (OFSR).

This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage and operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring in-person attendance on designated days.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gather insights and feedback to shape County policies and programs; Collaborate with diverse food system stakeholders, including assistance providers, farms, government agencies, and community organizations, to effectively implement and enhance strategies.


Details:
As the Communications and Operations Coordinator, you will oversee the administrative functions of OFSR's daily operations, including the preparation and submission of mandatory plans and reports, compliance with training requirements, onboarding new staff, managing supplies, maintaining digital platforms, and coordinating public communications and events.

You will also manage external communications, participate in outreach initiatives, and implement feedback mechanisms to ensure community insights inform policy development and enhance public awareness of available resources.

Assist with contract administration, which may involve preparing materials, processing documentation, and overseeing contractor performance.

Support the Program Manager in contract renewals, amendments, and expenditure reviews.

Collaborate with Shared Services to ensure timely payment processing for contracted services.

Analyze and refine OFSR's operational and administrative practices related to records management, reporting, and overall program organization.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork, and cultural competency skills, including strong listening abilities.
Proven knowledge of food systems-related policy issues at various governmental levels.
Relevant experience in community service delivery and coordination is strongly preferred.
Experience in program evaluation and process improvement.
Background in developing communication materials for diverse audiences.
Experience in community outreach and engagement.

This role requires the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and attend meetings or perform tasks outside the office.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential.
Demonstrated integrity and sound judgment.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
Timely data tracking and reporting capabilities.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

A minimum of two years of professional experience in public policy and/or community engagement, ideally focused on food systems, human services, social justice, or public health.


Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with potential evening and weekend commitments.
