Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Genomics Program Coordinator to enhance the objectives of the Genomics Research Branch (GRB). The GRB is focused on advancing research in psychiatric genetics, with the goal of uncovering the genetic underpinnings of mental health disorders.

Research initiatives may include genome-wide association studies, whole exome and genome sequencing, fine-mapping for causal variant identification, admixture mapping for population-specific risk factors, copy number variation analysis, and functional genomics studies such as transcriptomics that investigate the effects of genetic variation. Additionally, epigenetic research will be conducted to explore the interactions between environmental factors and genetic predispositions.

In this role, you will oversee the scientific and programmatic functions of the assigned GRB portfolio. This position is full-time and will involve initiating and maintaining communication with grantees and applicants.
Monitor and track timelines, milestones, requirements, and deliverables for grant awards to ensure that all objectives are achieved.

Prepare agendas, coordinate meeting logistics, and document decisions and action items for both internal government meetings and collaborative sessions with researchers.

Each Council Round, you will compile programmatic notes and document relevant genomic data sharing information for Genomics Branch grant submissions.
Collaborate with program officers to assess the appropriateness of submitted genomics data sharing plans.
Work alongside Genomics Research Branch staff on Data Sharing and Management Plans for new applications.
Contribute to the review process and pre-council presentation preparations for Genomics Research Branch applications.
Engage with the NINH-wide Genomics Team's programmatic activities related to genomics grant applications.
Assist in drafting and editing Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs).
Participate in review meetings, scientific discussions, and various other gatherings; provide minutes, reports, and analytical insights as needed.

Compile the Institute's annual report on program activities, leveraging scientific expertise in health research to identify overarching themes and interdisciplinary science areas.

Offer guidance and consultation to staff regarding policy, programs, communications, and strategic alliance matters.

Regularly meet with senior management to deliver oral updates on ongoing projects and to receive new assignments.

Conduct scientific and administrative evaluations and analyses of applications and proposals from a programmatic perspective.
Collaborate with staff to refine and revise grant proposals for submission.

#SOARQualifications:

PhD in Life Sciences or a related field.
A minimum of TWO (2) years of postdoctoral experience in biotechnology, the biotechnology sector, and/or academia with practical laboratory experience.

Demonstrated operational and organizational capabilities, with experience managing projects and reports in a core laboratory or team environment, and collaborating with contract research organizations.

Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and effectively manage workflows in a team-oriented setting.
Proactive problem solver with a self-motivated approach to driving timelines and deliverables.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and cultivate productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with the National Institute of Health (NIH)
