Position Summary:

We are seeking a temporary Program Administrator II - Communications and Operations Coordinator to assist the Office of Food Systems Resilience (OFSR). This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage and operates in a hybrid work model.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:
  • Foster collaboration with public and private sector stakeholders to disseminate information and provide culturally sensitive technical assistance.
  • Gather insights to guide County policies and programs; work alongside diverse food system partners to implement and enhance strategies.

Communications and Operations Coordination:
  • Oversee the administrative functions of OFSR's daily operations, including the preparation and submission of mandatory plans and reports.
  • Manage external communications, including social media and newsletters, and engage in outreach initiatives.
  • Support contract management, including the preparation of contract materials and oversight of contractor performance.
  • Assist in the renewal of contracts and the execution of amendments, while ensuring compliance with financial documentation.
  • Evaluate and refine OFSR's operational practices related to records management and reporting.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and cultural awareness.
  • In-depth knowledge of food systems-related policies at various governmental levels.
  • Relevant experience in community service delivery and coordination is highly preferred.
  • Experience in program evaluation and process enhancement.
  • Proven ability to develop communication materials for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in community outreach and engagement.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and attend off-site meetings as needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity and sound judgment.
  • Proficient in multitasking and managing various projects simultaneously.
  • Timely data tracking and reporting capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, though equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in public policy or community engagement, particularly in food systems or related fields.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.
  • Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with potential evening and weekend obligations.
