Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Specialist to contribute to our projects. This role is pivotal in managing the financial aspects of our initiatives, ensuring that we meet our budgetary goals while maximizing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Oversight: Analyze and monitor project expenditures, ensuring they align with established budgets and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Budget Development: Collaborate with project managers to create and maintain accurate project budgets, providing forecasts and financial models that reflect current project status.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate comprehensive financial reports, including variance analyses and cash flow statements, and present these findings to management and stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Document and assess financial implications of project changes, ensuring all adjustments are recorded and communicated effectively.
  • Contractual Compliance: Work closely with procurement teams to ensure all vendor contracts adhere to financial stipulations.
  • Invoice Management: Supervise the preparation and processing of invoices related to project costs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project financial objectives are achieved.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage with various departments to facilitate effective communication and coordination regarding cost management activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all financial operations comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Advocate for and implement best practices in cost management to enhance overall project efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in cost management within the construction sector, with at least 5 years in a site-based capacity.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with construction management tools is advantageous.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership Qualities: Proven capability to lead teams and mentor junior staff in a dynamic environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in financial reporting and cost tracking.
