CAD Design Specialist Job Description

The CAD Design Specialist plays a crucial role in the success of Nance International, Inc. by working closely with various departments to ensure seamless processes and efficient interdepartmental communication. This position involves creating detailed designs for HVAC systems using AutoCAD software and overseeing construction projects. The CAD Design Specialist is responsible for project coordination and scheduling, ensuring all production runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Development: Develop electrical, duct work, piping, and equipment drawings for projects, utilizing expertise in CAD software.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project owners from the sales department to initiate new projects, ensuring timely and efficient project execution.
  • Procurement Management: Issue purchase requisitions for equipment and materials, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Bill of Materials Management: Maintain accurate Bill of Materials for projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Work with different departments to schedule fabrication projects effectively, ensuring smooth production and timely delivery.
  • Construction Documentation: Produce construction drawings and documents for installation, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Equipment Development and Quality Control: Assist in equipment development and quality control, ensuring that all equipment meets company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and Estimating Collaboration: Collaborate with the Design/Estimating Team on system design, ensuring that all designs meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Customer and Supplier Management: Maintain contact with customers, engineers, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of issues.
  • Project Budgeting: Ensure projects stay within budget, identifying and mitigating potential cost overruns.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Handle additional duties and projects as assigned by the Manager, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements:

Education: Engineering College degree or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in engineering principles and CAD software.

Experience: Four years' experience in the CAD field or equivalent, with a proven track record of success in project coordination and design development.

Compensation: Dependent on Experience, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
