Position Overview: The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the complete recruitment process, ensuring an effective and smooth hiring journey. This position focuses on sourcing, engaging, and selecting exceptional candidates to fulfill the organization's workforce requirements while fostering a positive experience for applicants. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal abilities, a comprehensive understanding of recruitment methodologies, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute impactful recruitment strategies to attract a varied pool of qualified applicants.
- Oversee the full recruitment cycle, encompassing job advertisements, resume evaluations, interviews, and candidate selection.
- Collaborate with hiring leaders to grasp their staffing requirements and offer insights on recruitment best practices.
- Employ diverse sourcing techniques, including job boards, social media platforms, and networking opportunities, to identify potential candidates.
- Organize and facilitate job fairs, participate in community outreach, and engage with educational institutions to draw in prospective candidates.
- Establish and nurture connections with universities, professional organizations, and other talent sources.
- Maintain and refresh the applicant tracking system (ATS) to guarantee accurate and current candidate data.
- Ensure a positive candidate journey by providing timely and constructive feedback throughout the hiring process.
- Conduct reference checks and background investigations for prospective hires.
- Extend employment offers and negotiate terms with selected candidates.
- Coordinate the onboarding process, ensuring a seamless transition for new employees.
- Deliver regular updates on recruitment metrics and progress.
- Analyze recruitment metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancements.
- Gather data on employee turnover rates, reasons for departures, and demographic insights. Utilize this information to identify trends affecting retention.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in recruitment and talent acquisition.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies.
Additional Duties:
- Assist in the formulation of job descriptions.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of recent experience in full-cycle recruiting and/or Talent Acquisition.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of recruitment processes and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment techniques and tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficient in utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint.
- Willingness to learn new software as necessary.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR).
- Complete the Safe From Harm Training and maintain current certification as required.
